Sprint Waste Among Houston's Largest Private Employers

Sprint Waste Services has again been named to Houston Business Journal’s list of largest private employers, appearing at 51st on the 2016 list with 420 Houston-area employees and $79.88 million in 2015 local revenues. Sprint Waste first appeared on the list last year, ranking 50th with 375 Houston-area employees.

Houston Business Journal’s annual list compiles the top for-profit, privately held companies based on information obtained from HBJ research and company-completed questionnaires. Grocery giant HEB ran away with the top spot with 23,732 local employees, with Landry’s coming in second with 11,200. Academy Sports + Outdoors (5,800), S&B Engineers and Constructors Ltd. (5,212), and Fiesta Mart (4,400) rounded out the top five.

“We’re honored to be recognized for the second consecutive year as a top employer in Houston, a city known for its robust business environment and deep talent pool,” said Reagan Swinbank, Sprint Waste partner. “We’re able to provide our customers with best-in-class waste services and products largely because of our ability to attract and retain outstanding talent, and we look forward to continued success and growth as the greater Houston area continues to thrive.”
