OutRunning Hunger for a Great Cause

Come on out Sept. 29 to for the OutRun Hunger Family 5K Walk & Run, a new event that benefits the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry Inc. Sprint Waste Services is proud to be a sponsor of what organizers say will become an annual fun-filled event for in Fort Bend County.

Harvest Green, a master-planned community in Richmond, will host the event. A kids’ run begins at 8:30 a.m. with the 5K starting at 9 a.m., both beginning at the Harvest Green Farmhouse, 3400 Harvest Corner Drive, Richmond, TX 77406. Participants and their families will enjoy finish-line activities to include local food trucks, music and a DJ, bounce houses, and vendors. 

 “The East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry is a powerful force in the fight against hunger in our area, and we couldn’t be happier to jump in to sponsor this inaugural event,” said Sprint Waste Partner Will Swinbank. “When it comes to meeting many of our county’s most pressing social needs, we know everyone has to work together to get the job done. We hope other area businesses, families and individuals will come to make this event a huge success.”

The East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry’s mission is to address the basic human needs of Fort Bend County families in temporary financial crisis. The ministry offers faith-based services including a food pantry and other food programs, student supply programs, and other financial assistance efforts. 

The cost for the race is $25 with all proceeds benefitting the ministry ($15 for children ages 4–12 and free for children 3 and under). For more information or to register, click here.
