Environmental Effort

As a premier waste services provider, we work hard to protect, preserve and promote the environment in all that we do. We know operating in a responsible manner is not only good for the environment; it’s also good for business. It’s the right thing to do—for our customers, for our employees, and for the communities in which we operate.

As such Sprint Waste Services and all of the Sprint Companies are committed to environmental responsibility in these areas:

  • We invest heavily in state-of-the-art equipment and maintain a young and top-quality transportation fleet to exceed industry emissions and fuel usage standards. We strive to be good stewards of our resources, believing our investment in equipment such as our fleet of compressed natural gas trucks and our D7E waste dozers—all designed to work harder while using less fuel and resources—will pay off in the long run.
  • We take proactive steps to respect the environment in our communities. For example, we’ve adopted clean fleet policies for our on-road vehicles and off-road equipment, promote the use of lower-emitting construction equipment, adopted a no-idling policy, and accelerate the turnover of heavy-duty equipment whenever possible. We’re proud to have been designated a Clean Air Champion by the Houston-Galveston Area Council for the last three years.
  • We provide managed solutions for waste collection and disposal that help our customers comply with all local, state and national regulations. These solutions increase customer productivity, promote efficiency and lower costs.
  • We provide customers with the tools necessary to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credits for recycling and/or salvaging nonhazardous construction and demolition materials. These efforts involve working with the waste generator to ensure all materials that can be reused or recycled are segregated at the construction or project site, as well as use of our state-of-the-art recycling center that operates in conjunction our type IV construction debris landfill in Richmond, Texas, and our standalone type V recycling center in Port Arthur, Texas.
